The government issued a press statement about the film in which both actors star as journalist ordered by the CIA to assassinate the North Korean President Kim Jong-Un, saying the country considered the movie "an act of war" and "wanton act of terror".

Luis Suarez Banned : Fifa Handed Him Nine-Game Ban AND Four Month Football Ban

FIFA has however reached a verdict and handed Luis Suarez a record of nine-game ban and a four month football ban after being found guilty of biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini, making the sanction the biggest ever World Cup suspension in history. Momentarily, we are yet to confirm if there will be room for appeal to allow him play in the subsequent World Cup matches.

However, Suarez sanction has now surpasses the heaviest sanction that Fifa has ever given out, being an eight-match ban that was imposed on Italy’s Mauro Tassotti for breaking the nose of Spain’s Luis Enrique during the 1994 tournament...

SUAREZ - "No Enough Evidence" For Sanction

According to report, the head of Uruguay's football association has said there is no concrete evidence for Fifa to "truly sanction" Luis Suarez after he was alleged to have bitten the shoulder of the Italian defender - Giorgio Chiellini on Tuesday night's Group D match.

Fifa's independent disciplinary committee had a meeting into Wednesday's night but could not get to any verdict, but will reconvene again on Thursday.  

But Wilmar Valdez told Uruguay's Channel 10 television that video evidence shown at the hearing was "not clear". "We understand that there is not sufficient evidence to truly sanction Luis," he said.

Also, a Fifa official has told Sky News Suarez "must face a severe sanction" if found guilty of biting Chiellini.

"If we allow this where will it stop?" he said.

But his country's President, Jose Mujica, has insisted: "I didn't see him bite anyone".

"We didn't choose him to be a philosopher or a mechanic or to have good manners. He's a great player.

"If we're going to take decisions in football based on what TV says, then there are loads of penalties and handballs you have to give that weren't given. So bad luck."

His team mate has also denied the idea that he bite anyone during the match 

However, Suarez action was grossly criticized by Uruguay football legend Alcides Ghiggia - the last survivor of the team which defeated Brazil to win the 1950 World Cup.

"Suarez plays well but he has done things that are not normal for a player nor for a soccer game," he said. "I think Fifa can sanction him."

The 27-year-old, banned twice before for biting opposing players, could be expelled from the tournament if found guilty.

Student Of Delta State Poly Sentenced To Death For Robbing Items worth of N30,000

'

A 22-year old student of Delta State Polytechnic, Eguono Akpeghughu, has been sentenced to death by hanging by a Warri High Court in southern Nigeria, for armed robbery.

Akpeghughu who was found guilty on a two-count charge of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and confessed to have robbed his victims of valuable items worth over N30, 000.

The offences are punishable under section 1(2)(a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, Cap R 11 Volume 14, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

The court held that the prosecution proved essential ingredients of armed robbery against the accused beyond all reasonable doubt from the totality of evidence presented before the court.

The court further held that prosecution was able to pin the accused to the scene of crime from the evidence of Prosecution Witness 1, the testimony of a witness who assisted in arresting the accused as well of his confessional statement and other exhibits recovered from him including the wrist watch of the victim which were all tendered and admitted in evidence by the court.

The court heard that the convict with others now at large, on 4 January 2008, had attacked George Ogbemudia at Bazunu junction, Warri and robbed him of his wrist watch worth N1,200, a necklace worth N7,000, Sony Ericsson handset worth N26,000 and N2,000 cash.

The accused was arrested with the help of a passerby when the victim summoned up courage and grabbed the accused as he made to escape with his loot and raised alarm while his other gang members escaped.

It was later discovered that the accused, suspected to be a member of an armed gang terrorising the neighbourhood especially pedestrians, lives a stone’s throw from the scene of crime.

He was later handed over to the police where he voluntarily made a confessional statement admitting to the crime.

87 Out Of 486 Suspects Arrested In Abia Were Identified As Boko Haram

A security source disclosed that out of 486 suspected insurgents arrested on Sunday in Abia State, 87, including a kingpin, were Boko Haram members.

Hundreds of travellers, who were passing along Enugu – Port Harcourt Expressway in several buses, were detained in Aba town on suspicion of being linked with the dreaded sect.
Director of Defence Information Chris Olukolade later stated that the “terror kingpin” was found among them without providing his name.
Premium Times reports with reference to its security source that 86 more people have been identified as suspected terrorists. The source was quoted saying:
“But to be double sure, we have called for additional screening.”
He also revealed that those arrested did not have any weapon on them, still military spotted some body marks associated with terrorists on them.
Like Olukolade, the source refused to give the name of the kingpin, who was reportedly taken into custody and separated from other suspects, however he said that others were being held at 144 Battalion, close to Umuahia in Abia State.
The source also spoke about the details during the interrogation of the kingpin:
“The kingpin is making very useful statements. Initially, he was trying to deceive the interrogators until he was confronted with fresh info.”
Meanwhile Olukolade refused to comment on the information learnt from the source, when contacted by the Premium Times saying that the screening was still in process.

20yr old Pakistani Woman Raped and Hanged From Tree by Boyfriend

According to reports, a 20 year old Pakistani lady identified as Muzammil Bibi was garroted and hug from a tree after resisting a rape attempt by a gang of three men. In a press release by the Pakistan Senior Police Officer, Sadaqat Ali Chohan expressed his trauma saying - 

""This is the first time in my 22 years of service in the police that I have seen such a case where a girl was raped in this way and found hanging from a tree. We have heard of such cases in India but never in Pakistan. The girl's clothes were torn. We took her down and moved her to hospital. Her body had signs of resistance. We have arrested three individuals who have confessed to the crime" He said.

Among those arrested is one Muhammad Saqib - the lady's boyfriend of six months, he admitted that he tried to force her -  the daughter of a blind parent and breadwinner of the family - to have sex with two of his friend. When she refused the demented pair were raged. 

The lady, whom he allegedly had promised marriage was discovered hanging from a tree the next morning.

A notorious terrorist and gang leader simply known as Mallam Husaini was shot dead today June 20th along the Jos-Bauch highway by the Nigerian military after his gang engaged soldiers in a shoot out after attacking a military convoy that was on an operational patrol between Jos and Bauchi.

In a press statement released today by the Defence Headquarters, Mallam Husaini had led a series of attacks on security personnel and led the attack on the Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad HQ in Abuja in Nov. 2012 and also led the attack on a military convoy moving from Lokoja to Kaduna where two soldiers were killed in January 2013.

Nollywood Actor Romanus Uchenna Amuta & Costumer Lizzy Ogbodo Die On The Same Day

The Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood, has lost two talented people, actor Romanus Uchenna Amuta and costumer Lizzy Ogbodo, who passed away on the same day, last weekend.

Veteran actor Romanus Uchenna Amuta, who is popularly known as Natty from the now rested sitcom of the 80s, New Masquerade, has been suffering from partial paralyses and living in complete penury. He died from stroke in the morning of Saturday, June 7.

Later on the same day, Enugu based Nollywood costumer, Lizzy Ogbodo, died from complications from typhoidfever and malaria.

According to a close friend of Lizzy, actress Ejiro Okurame, her neighbour saw her collapsed body on the stairs to her home in Enugu and rushed her to a hospital but her blood pressure was very high.

"She was in coma for 3 days with oxygen before she was taken to another hospital for CT brain test, where doctors were waiting for her to come out from coma before treating her well or do brain surgery till she died by 2am on Saturday morning.

"She’s like a sister to me and Mama G. We have been in tears since the incident. She is survived by 3 kids who are currently in the university," actress Ejiro Okurame said.

May their souls rest in peace.

According to reports, some alleged group of young men had a bone of contention at about 10:00pm in the Bariga area of Lagos State which resulted into a physical combat...
