MOSCOW, May 23 (RIA Novosti) – An attempted murder case has been launched against a serviceman suspected of throwing a Kenyan teenager out of a fourth-floor window, the Investigative Committee’s chief military department said on Thursday.
A 19-year-old Kenyan woman was found on the ground near an apartment block in eastern Moscow on Sunday morning, having apparently fallen from one of the windows above, the committee department said in a statement. She was rushed to hospital.
The suspect, identified as Sergeant Denis Popov, was detained on Wednesday.
“A preliminary investigation established that Popov, while under the influence of alcohol, was in the company of a Kenyan national early on May 19, in an apartment on the fourth floor of a residential building,” the statement said.
Investigators believe that the soldier threw the young woman out of the window in a dispute.
