A 41-year-old woman, Mrs Catherine Sefunmi Urouna, who allegedly drank a substance suspected to be chemical to protest against her husband’s alleged refusal to buy her an iPad device was reported dead.
Her family of five and neighbors were shot into pool of morning when they discovered that the deceased who was adjudged to be comfortable in her husband’s house took her life over a minor domestic contention.
The late Mrs Urouna, who was a mother of two boys and a girl, and a senior executive accounting officer in Akure North local government area in Ondo State, was said to have bidding her husband a heart-warming welcome from his journey, for he jobs in other part of the state. Afterwards, she demanded for her Ipad as earlier promise by her husband. Her husband pleading with her to be patient and keep making do with the blackberry she had pending when he can get her an Ipad. Unfortunately, the conversation didn't go down well with his wife, who abruptly stood up and went inside the bedroom, treating to do something nasty should her need wasn't met as at when she needed.
It was alleged that Mr Urouna went in and took a substance unknown to any, went into the toilet and close the door. Her little kid that saw her rush down to report to dad who went and knock at the door, but there wasn't any response.
The motive and cause of her death is however, being probed by the Ondo State police command.
