NIGERIANS ARE LIKE CANCER - GOA, INDIA MINISTER

Nigerians protesting in Goa

A few days after the Goa government proclaimed a crackdown on every illegal Nigerians living in Goa, India, a senior state Bharatiya Janata Party minister referred to Nigerians as being cancerous.

“The Nigerians are like cancer. We are worried what would be the image of Goa to the outside world when the images of Nigerians creating ruckus on the road are shown through television to the world,” said - The State Art and Culture Minister Dayanand Mandrekar.

An estimated number of about 200 Nigerians had blocked the national highway last week to revolt against the unlawful murder of a fellow Nigerian under a mere suspicion of drug dealings. Countless Nigerians had been arrested following the incident. But the more you go against them the more fortified they seems to become.

The minister said that such incidents could have a negative effect on the tourism industry of the state.

“People have seen on the television how Nigerians forcibly retrieved the corpse from the police van while the police remained silent spectators", He claimed.

“You all blame the coastal belt for being the hotbed of drugs, but now the scene is different. The narcotics have entered the villages of Goa and they are sold there,” he said.
