NGF Disintegrate: PDP Has Suspended Governor Amaechi

In what appears to be a repercussion for his recent actions viewed by the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party as anti-party activities, the National Working Committee of the ruling party has suspended Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers state.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr Olisa Metuh announced the suspension in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

Ameachi, only on Friday, by a whisker defeated his rival Plateau State governor, Jonah Jang by 19 to 16 votes to clinch a second term in office as Chairman of the Nigeria’s Governors Forum, NGF.

Lagos State Government Employs 70 Women As Truck Drivers

The Lagos State Government (Nigeria) on Friday said it had just employed 70 women as truck drivers, as part of efforts to empower women in the state.

The Deputy Governor, Mrs Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, announced this at a news conference in Ikeja organized to mark Gov. Babatunde Fashola`s sixth year in office.

She said that the women had been trained with the quintessential knowledge on driving large vehicles before they were deployed to the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) as waste truck drivers.

“We are also considering training and empowering women as Taxi drivers. We are currently examining some security risks that these women might face driving taxis.

“But we hope to partner with some hotels in the state on how we can attach some of these female taxi drivers to them, so that we can track who they are dropping off, in case there is a problem," she said.

CAN's Borno Secretary Killed After Pres Jonathan Declaration Of Emergency Rule

                                

Barely a few minutes after the declaration of Emergency Rule in Borno (and two other states), the secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the state, Reverend Faya Pama Musa was tailed  by some suspected members of the Boko Haram Sect and shot dead in his home.

According to the report; this incident occurred around 7:30pm in the evening. Estimated to be 30 minutes after the broadcast of  the President.

Reverend Pama Musa, who was the head pastor of a pentecostal church in Maiduguri, was shot dead inside his GRA resident at a very close range. The head quarter of Borno CAN have confirmed his killing.

ABUJA — After an upsurge of violence in Nigeria’s north, President Goodluck Jonathan has declared a state of emergency in three states and ordered the immediate deployment of more troops to the region.....
